| Overall Objective |
Assist the effective implementation
of CARP in five Philippine provinces and thus help alleviate
rural poverty and agricultural stagnation |

diversification of farm production and improved living standard
among small farmers, especially those in the specific Agrarian
Reform Communities (ARCs) targeted. |
By referrence to sample surveys as measured
against baseline surveys of the ARCs involved in the project |

| Specific Objectives |
The overall objective shall be achieved
through the implementation of a program of financial and technical
assistance which shall, in each of the five geographical areas:
1) accelerate the transfer of land titles to agrarian reform
beneficiaries in accordance with CARP provisions;
2) support the establishment or strengthening of farmers organizations
and cooperatives capable of providing sustained support to their
members;
3)help the agrarian reform beneficiaries increase their production
and incomes, through improvements in agricultural infrastructure
and agricultural services, so that these agrarian reform communites
(ARCs) may become able to direct their own sustained development
in the future. |
