  With a muffled smile, this farmer in Lutiman, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay who is one of the beneficiaries of the 8 CIPs in Region IX covering around 860 hectares of rice fields stand assured of better harvests in coming years. The CIP is an answer to the perennial problem of farmers of crop losses during dry season. At unrealized gross production of 50,000.00 per hectare, the losses dur to absence of 2nd cropping amounted to several millions of pesos every year.
